Two Viking Age nalbinding mittens worked in the Oslo stitch are known from Iceland and Norway (see pictures). So we are allowed to walk around with pretty nalbinding mittens without the need to explain them with scientifically unproven speculations.

With this in mind I took my three bulks of walnut-dyed single yarn and made three nice pairs. With the remaining yarn I made a pair of wrist warmers - for when one needs his/her fingers on colder days. There is no archaeological evidence for those, but it's a useful way to use up scrap yarn. In order to work them to an acceptable length I complemented them with some dark brown mottled felting yarn.
